1979 - László Kovács became the member of the Folk Music Workshop of Táborfalva. As a student of József Birinyi he learnt to play on about 15 different musical instruments.

1985 – 1988 He visited the Folk Music School of Óbuda, and also member of the band accompanying ELTE Dance Group.
1985 - He became lecturer in several regularly organised camps and courses.
1989 – 1995 He worked as a restorer at the Ethnographic Museum
1989 - He became the leader of the folk Music Workshop of Pécel.


1985
- He was the member of Greenfields (a band playing Irish music).
1991 - He became the member of the Hungarian Folk Trio
1996 - He became the leader of “Dínomdánom” Ensemble in Ráckeve.
1998 - He became the leader of folk Music Workshop of Nyársapát.
1999 - He brought his own instrument manufacturing workshop into existence.
2000 - He became the leader of folk Music Workshop of Fót and.
also the leader of “Flótás” Folk Music Band.



László Kovács uses about 20 – 25 different traditional Hungarian instruments. His aim is to foster, develop, popularise the authentically instrument and sung Hungarian folk music, traditional folk customs and folk games. He is regular participant of folk festivals, camps and he has performed in numerous radio and TV programmes.



The instruments used:
Zither, recorder, shepherd’s recorder, slay whistles, double recorder, reed whistle, mirliton, kobsa, tambour, bagpipe, gardon, jew’s harp, recorder, tilinko, whistle, hurdy-gurdy, drums and other rhythm devices, etc.

Awards:

1984 He received the title: Young Maser of Folk Arts
1995 and 1997 He won the “Golden Peacock” award with Cimbora Ensemble
1997 He won the “Golden Peacock” award with Folk Music Group of Nyársapát
1997 and 1999 Gold category with “Dínomdánom” Ensemble
